Vijayadasami at Prasanthi Nilayam Prasanthi Nilayam, October 24th, 2012 Morning: Seven day Yajna coinciding the Navarathri festival, Veda Purusha Saptaaha Jnaana Yajna, had a grand culmination this morning with the offering of Maha Poornahuthi at the Poornachandra Auditorium. Earlier, in the Poornachandra Auditorium, morning proceedings began quite early, at 0700 hrs. The Ritwiks upon completing the rituals prior to the final function received the Poornahuti Samagri (paraphernalia related to the final function) in the bhajan hall before proceeding in a procession to the venue Poornachandra Auditorium. With the Chief Priest carrying the Dhaarini (a large silver spoon used for feeding ghee to the Yajna Fire) other priests joining with essentials came in a procession to the Yajna Vedhi at the Poornachandra, to the escort of Veda chanting and Nadaswaram. The Poornachandra Auditorium was already filled to capacity. Special Silver Peetam was arranged for Baba, the Yajna Purusha. At 0925 hrs. Maha Poornahuthi was offered marking the grand culmination of the seven day ritual. With full throat chanting of Vedas, public also joining, as ordained by the priests in repeating prayers, the venue turned turned spiritual charged reminiscing one and all of those golden nostalgic days when the beautiful form of Beloved Bhagawan would preside over the function, as Yajna Purusha. Even as bhajans began, priest along with Vedam boys dispersed into many groups sprinkling sanctified water upon the large gathering. Prasadam was distributed to the entire gathering before Maha Mangala Arathi offering at 1010 hrs. The final lap of Sri Sathya Sai Grama Seva was done this morning, for the residents and devotees inside the Prasanthi Nilayam ashram precincts marking the end of the nine day long Seva Yajna, began on 16 October 2012. Students from the Anantapur Campus with faculties had the onus of serving the Ashram residents, an honour bestowed upon them by Bhagawan Himself ever since the inception of Grama Seva in the year 2000. Evening: The concluding session of Prasanthi Vidwaan Mahasabha 2012 was marked with three speeches by the young scholars, faculty and students followed by a scintillating musical offering by renowned violin duo Ganesh - Kumaresh at the Sai Kulwant Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam. Speaking first, Dr Deepak Anand, Asst. Professor with Dept. of Management Studies, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus spoke on the subject 'Fleeting Moments' listing out various question man has to face in his way forward toward the goal in life. Speaking with authority and clarity Dr Deepak Anand spoke with elan entwining his speech with apt anecdotes, illustrating every point, from his own student day experiences with Bhagawan. Sri Abhay Kini, MBA student from Prasanthi Nilayam campus speaking next elucidated on the subject 'Surrender.' Kini' structured speech began with a reference to the Poornahuthi that signifies surrender. Elucidating further with apt anecdotes from rich experiences of veteran devotees, the young scholar ended his speech with a reference to the importance of offering all vices in the sacrificial fire. It is only through love one can reach Atma Nivedanam, Self Surrender and Self Surrender alone grants true peace, said the speaker concluding his speech. Giving a befitting finale to the week-long talk sessions as part of the 'ensemble of the learned', Ms AV Aishwarya from the Anantapur Campus spoke on giving certain practical tips in man's evolutionary spiritual journey. Bhagawan's Divine discourse followed. Exhorting the audience of the essence of Upanishads Bhagawn lucidly narrated the events that led to the Divine Celestial Marriage of Lord Rama and Mother Sita. Marking the grand-finale renowned violin duo Ganesh - Kumaresh presented a soul-filling Carnatic Violin Duet session enlightening the beautiful twilight, enthralling the audience with sheer talent and devotion for over 45 minutes. Mixing violin with vocal rendition, to the accompaniment of Tabla and Mridangam, the duo mesmerised the audience with some scintillating tunes, namely, Sree Ganesha Sivunikumara..., Rama Rama Rama Sai..., Madhava Keshava Madhava.... Stringing together the popular number Rama Kodanda Rama...with the famous Lord Ayyappa Song sung in the Sabarimala shrine, Harivarasanam the duo played some scintillating tunes ending on a high note. The duo had the rare distinction of being child prodigies, having begun their violin exploration as early as at the age of 3.
