SATHSANGA MAHATMYAM BY STUDENTS OF SRI SATHYA SAI VIDHYA PEETH, SRISAILAM
Prashantinilayam,15th September 2013
Continuing with the festive spirit of Onam beautiful children from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Peeth, Srisailam, Kozhikode presented a Musical Dance Drama entitled 'Satsangha Mahatmyam' this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The presentation was a thesis on the greatness of Satsangh, that finally takes one to the Ultimate Goal of Realisation. Depicting the epochal rivalry of Sage Vishwamitra with Sage Vasishta, who repeatedly belittled Vishwamitra refusing to accept his Brahmarishi status, the presentation heralds the greatness of Satsang , which alone finally earned Vishwamitra the much coveted Brahmarishi status.
Beginning depicting Vishwamitra's desire for the Celestial Cow, Nandini, a desire which was rejected by Sage Vasishta, subsequent scenes present Vishwamitra's severe penance and his increasing rivalry that ends up Vishwamitra almost making an attempt to finish Vasishta. Understanding his folly, when Vishwamitra accepts Vasishta, beseeching him to initiate him into Brahmadeeksha Vasishta in turn sending him to Lord Adisesha. Vishwamitra learns the finer lessons at the hands of Adisesha, who exploited Vishwamitra's weaknesses, advising him to meditate on his guru Vasishta understanding the greatness of Satsang.
Earlier the programme began at 1700 hrs. with two scholarly speeches by Dr KS Radhakrishnan followed by Dr KBS Rajan. Speaking first Dr KS Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Kerala Public Service Commission elucidated on the greater significance of Onam, which is Kerala's national festival. Marking a mention of Baba's magnanimity allowing Keralites to celebrate Onam in His immediate Divine Presence Dr Radhakrishnan exhorted the greater need of the present time to develop spiritual equanimity.
Delivering a speech full of pun, in oxymoronic style Dr KBS Rajan highlighted on the sad plight of the present day's life that is tainted with marooned vision, contradicting the olden golden days, calling for the need of the Love - that is the Language Of The Heart as echoed by Baba.
