Morning Function:
In keeping with the tradition of the past few decades, on November 18th, every year, there is a symbolic procession of the Mandir
deities of Lord Rama and Mother Seeta along with the ancient idol of Venugopala from the Mandir in Prasanthi Nilayam to the
Peddavenkamma Raju Kalyana Mandap, near the Hanuman Temple, in the village of Puttaparthi.
The highlight of the morning function was the Celestial Marriage of the Divine Couple, Lord Sri Ramachandra and Mother
Seeta performed with religious solemnity, in the Sai Kulwant Hall. The function was witnessed by a rapt audience before were
idols were taken out in procession through the village.
Evening Programme:
On this third evening of the ongoing 86h Birthday Celebrations, there was a Hindustani Vocal Concert by well-known vocalist and
exponent of Indian Classical Music, Padma Shri Ms. Sumitra Guha. A proponent of Indian Classical Music around the world, Ms.
Guha had on an earlier occasion sung in Bhagawan's physical presence in 2005. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, the seasoned
artiste chose to sing a Telugu poem, a composition of Pothana, followed by her own composition on Lord Krishna.
The hour-long recital included songs by Annamacharya, Kabir and Mirabai, displaying her versatility.
Ms. Guha was accomapnied by Sri Nishikant Barodekar on Tabla, Harish on Keyboard and Sridhar on Violin.
